Professor Ge Debiao was born in October 1938, in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. He graduated from Department of Physics, Wuhan University in 1961. He is a faculty member at the Xidian University since 1961, and became a Professor in 1991 and Ph.D. Supervisor in 1993, respectively. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania in 1980-1982, and a senior visiting scientist at the University of Texas at Dallas in June-December 1993 and June-November 1995, respectively. Professor Ge is a Fellow of China Electronics Association (CEA), and a Council Member of Wave Propagation Committee, CEA. He was invited to be a member of Electromagnetic Academy, USA. His main interests are electromagnetic theory, computational electromagnetics, scattering and inverse scattering. He has published more than 100 journal papers and 90 conference papers. He authored and co-authored two books entitled Introduction to Electromagnetic Inverse Scattering (1987), which was awarded as the First Price of Educational Textbook in the National Electronic Industry Ministry (1992), and Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method for Electromagnetics (2003), which is recommended as a graduate textbook by the National Educational Ministry (2004).
